How it works
After opening the app for the first time, you can enter up to three SMS and email contacts that will receive notifications when the app is activated.
If the app is ever activated, it will send out an emergency message to your 3 contacts along with your current location while simultaneously and automatically dialing 911 for you (or any other number you choose to program).
Each email will contain a link to a map. This will allow your contacts to view your location from a desktop or smartphone.
Travel
Traveling and don’t know what the emergency phone number is for where you are traveling? No need to worry, iDistress will determine that for you using your GPS!!

Notes when traveling
If iDistress is ever activated outside Canada or the U.S., your contacts back home may still be notified. If you decide to enter contacts local to where you are traveling please confirm the input method. Finally, it is highly recommended that you open iDistress once you arrive at your destination to allow the app to determine the local emergency phone number.
